There are many benefits of working on family history. Just to name a few...
-I get to hear Grandma and Grandpa Milner tell stories
-I feel a special bond to my ancestors
-I get to tell my kids about their heritage
-I get to act like a historian, searching out birth and death dates
But the number 1 reason I love working on family history is the amazing feeling I get when I get to
"take an ancestor to the temple with me".
Russ took Mathias Wagner to the temple with him to be baptized. He was going with the Young Men in our ward and his nephew Tanner was one of them. Tanner was baptized for Mathias and Russ and his brother Keith (Tanner's Dad) did the confirmation. Russ said it was really neat and he was grateful to be apart of it. Tanner was telling the other boys how cool it was that he got to be baptized for my Great Great Great Grandpa.
I am also grateful that Heavenly Father has allowed me to be apart of it as well!
